Register your pets today - Don't let them get Lost

The West Watch Community Pet Registry has been established to provide a community resource for finding and returning lost pets. Homeowners are reminded and encouraged to keep collars and identification tags on their pet at all times, as that is the quickest and most effective way to ensure that a lost pet is returned safely to their owner.

Essentially, the Pet Registry is a face book of the pets in our neighborhood. It will be used to help return pets that get lost to their owners. To join the Pet Registry, please print out and complete the Registration Form with your contact information, a description of your pet(s), and a picture of your pet(s). This information will be entered into a database to be maintained by homeowners Laura & Bob Hare

If you find a lost pet in the West Watch area, please contact them and give a description of the pet and where you found him/her. They will look up the pet in the database and see if the owner has registered their pet. If the pet is listed, the owner will be contacted and/or they will put the owner in touch with you. We are hoping that with this system we will be able to bypass the already taxed shelter/animal control system and return pets more quickly to their owners. We recognize that it is especially important for pets with medication or other special needs to be returned home as quickly as possible. If you have a pet with such special needs, please indicate this on the registration form, along with the name of your veterinarian, in case your pet is lost and we are not able to contact you within a reasonable amount of time.

If you have lost your pet, you can contact Laura & Bob to see if they have heard from anyone and, if needed, they can help you with search efforts. This could include contacting the City animal shelter to register a lost pet notice and helping to put up fliers in the neighborhood based on the picture and information contained in the Pet Registry.

If you are going out of town and have a pet sitter checking in on your pets, it may be helpful to leave him/her the contact information below in case your pets become lost while you are away.

If the Pet Registry is successful, we hope that participation in this program will lead to other activities that involve our community’s pets such as community pet days, spay and neuter drives.

If you do not have a current photo of your pet, please contact Laura or Bob to schedule a time for one to be taken. Please also contact them with any questions you have about the Pet Registry. Thanks for your interest and participation.
